Three housebreakers were arrested after a high-speed chase on Wednesday afternoon, 4 May.
“Our tactical response team drove past Galleria Mall when our vehicle tracker unit activated at about 1.30pm,” said ET Rapid Response South Coast managing member, Tony Lokker.
The signal was tracked into Umlazi. “En route, an SAPS vehicle drove past the wanted vehicle, a black VW GTi and a high-speed chase ensued.”
The robbers lost control of the vehicle and crashed, sustaining serious injuries. All three were arrested and detained. The vehicle was taken during a housebreaking in Isipingo 30 minutes prior to the chase.
A Ford bakkie hijacked in Athlone Park on Saturday, 7 May was tracked and recovered in Umlazi on the same day by ET Rapid Response and SAPS.
