Thanks Metro for settling Rockview ruckus

Hopefully this new bylaw will also wipe out public misconception that people think that they can make as much noise as they like up until 10pm at night.

EDITOR – Thank you to Metro Police for responding so quickly on Saturday night to the ruckus in Rockview Road, Amanzimtoti.

After politely asking our neighbour to tone down his music at around 10pm at his party attended by about 30 to 40 youngsters, the music just got louder and louder.

Metro Police were called and arrived just in time, as by then a fist fight had broken out among the youngsters to top it off.

Metro Police informed us of the new bylaw which comes into effect this March, which aims to regulate behaviour which causes annoyance and inconvenience to the public. These inconsiderate people will now be brought to book and fined for continued disturbances.

Hopefully this new bylaw will also wipe out public misconception that people think that they can make as much noise as they like up until 10pm at night.

Sadly it’s become increasingly difficult to relax in one’s own home on the weekend, which is totally unacceptable. As someone recently said ‘common courtesy’ is not so common anymore.
