Burglar on the prowl in Isipingo Beach

The same man is believed to be involved in both incidents.

Isipingo Beach residents are urged to be on the alert following an increase of break-ins and attempted break-ins in the area.

“We received a call from a member of the Isipingo Beach community policing forum (CPF) informing us there was a break-in in progress at Duiker Road on Tuesday, 1 December,” said Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo.

The control room dispatched a response team to the location. “Response officers searched the property, which is under renovation, while some CPF members were on site. They found that a window had been broken and a door left open, indicating a possible escape route, and building tools were stolen. Clothes and a hotplate stove that belonged to an employee guarding the property were also taken.”

The thieves had fled prior to the arrival of the team.

A house burglar suspect is believed to be lurking in the Isipingo Beach vicinity after two homeowners reported criminal activity on their property on Friday, 4 December. “A homeowner found a man hiding in the garage on a property on Klippers Way,” said Krishnee.

The man fled the scene when confronted by the home-owner. He was again spotted on the property on Sunday, 6 December, scoping out a wendy house. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jacket and blue denim jeans.

“The man is believed to have proceeded down Outer Circuit Road. A patrol was conducted with Isipingo Beach resident, Poonie Moodley and response officers,” said Krishnee.

In a second incident, a home-owner reported a break-in on Second Avenue. Entry had been gained into the domestic’s quarters. “It is alleged that the helper and home-owner confronted the thief, who fled. It is unconfirmed if any items were stolen.”

The same man is believed to be involved in both incidents. If you spot the man, contact Alpha Alarms on 031-902-6666 or the SAPS immediately.
