No water restrictions

But conserve water, as drought worsens in KZN.

ALTHOUGH there are no water restrictions on the Upper South Coast, eThekwini Municipality appeals to residents to heed government’s call and conserve water as the drought worsens in KwaZulu-Natal.

The province was recently declared a ‘disaster area’. The municipality has implemented water restrictions in severely affected areas, most of which are in the northern parts of the city.

The municipality is reported to be losing about 237-million litres a day due to illegal connections, vandalism and leaks which are not reported timeously.

Residents are urged to call 080-131-3013 or email Eservices@durban.gov.za to report any water problems, vandalism, water theft or leaks in their areas.
