Roads revamp planned for Isipingo
The anticipated completion date for the project is January 2016.
ETHEKWINI Municipality’s road provisions department will undertake road rehabilitation in Baltex Avenue, Rana and Jeffels roads in Isipingo, from Wednesday, 19 August.
These roads have been identified and prioritised using the eRoads system (road asset management tool). The work involves strengthening of existing road layers and construction of a new asphalt layer.
In Baltex Avenue, the rehab will be from Wilcock Road/M35 to the cul de sac; in Rana Road, from Sabjee Road to the cul-de-sac and in Jeffels Road, from Old South Coast Road/M35 to Joyner Road.
The construction process will involved utilisation of heavy equipment. In order to maintain a safe environment for both road users and construction personnel, traffic control measures including stop/go controls and traffic deviations will be implemented.
The completion date of the project is anticipated to be the end of January 2016, depending on weather conditions and the availability of special materials such as bitumen.
Residents and road users are requested to exercise caution and patience while travelling through the work zone during construction.
