UPDATE: ‘Expired’ licence fine withdrawn
Metro Police said the officer involved will be dealt with internally.
AN R800 fine issued to Toti resident, Jean du Plessis for an ‘expired’ licence has been withdrawn by Metro Police.
The Sun emailed a copy of the fine to Metro Police on Wednesday, 29 July after the fine had been issued on Tuesday, 28 July for Jean’s vehicle licence disc which only expires on Friday, 31 July.
“Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention. The officer involved will be dealt with in terms of internal procedures and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. The fine issued has been accordingly withdrawn,” said Metro Police’s Snr Supt Eugene Msomi.
