Illovo, Isipingo forge closer ties through gala day
Both communities will celebrate their rich heritage.
THE communities of Illovo and Isipingo will come together to celebrate their rich heritage at a gala day at Illovo sports ground on Saturday, 27 June.
The festivities kick off at noon.
Senior citizens of both towns will be entertained by musician, Sidney Naidoo.
Besides a variety of social activities on the day, footballers will lock horns in the junior and senior divisions.
An excellent relationship exists between both communities with much in common, which goes back years. The gala aims to renergise this bond of friendship with fond memories and camaraderie.
Besides excelling on the football and social fields, a number of acadamics emerged from Illovo, among them Dr SS Govender who always avails himself when the need arises.
Footballers of the calibre of Gordon Bony and David Peter who hail from Illovo will also be in attendance.
The event, a walk down memory lane, is not to be missed.
