Garage safe blown up

Police are investigating.

A SAFE at a garage in Warner Beach was blown-up on Monday, 9 February at about 1.18am.

An AK47 shell was found at the scene. The gun is believed to have been used to detonate explosives attached to the safe. The safe door landed about 15m away.

A posting on the Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) Facebook Page said the organisation’s responding patrol cordoned off and kept bystanders away from the scene, before the arrival of police.

“We confirm a case of malicious damage to property has been opened for investigation by Amanzimtoti SAPS. No arrests have been made, investigations are continuing,” said Major Thulani Zwane of the KZN police media centre.
