Motorist dies in horror N2 Umgababa crash

Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle veered across the centre median and collided head-on with a truck traveling in the northbound lane.

Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire department found the highway totally obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles – the occupants still trapped in the twisted metal.

While firemen used the Jaws of Life, paramedics from all services worked tirelessly to stabilise the injured. After triaging, they found one man had  died on impact, one critical, while two others were seriously injured. After the injured were stabilised,  paramedics transported them to various hospitals.
