HONESTY is the best policy for many people, including Doonheights resident Firoze Khan who returned a large amount of cash to a retail store, when he realised his withdrawal amount reflected negatively on a statement.
On Friday, 6 June at about 3.30pm, Firoze shopped at Checkers Galleria and withdrew R3,000. “When I checked my till slip at home, it showed a withdrawal amount of R300. When I checked details on my cellphone in-contact and email, I realized there was an error. As an honest gentleman, very first thing on Monday morning, I contacted Checkers and spoke to the general manager, who was
extremely pleased and mentioned to me that she had never experienced this type of honesty.”
He refunded the R2,700 to the store as it rightfully belonged to them.
