Pageant finalist helps make a difference

The Amanzimtoti resident calls on the community to donate sanitary/hygiene products for girls in need.

MISS North Coast KZN Teen Finalist 2023, Samantha Koch (13), is collecting sanitary/hygiene products for the ‘Keep a Girl Child in School’ campaign.

The Warner Beach Preparatory School learner, along with her fellow finalists, has been tasked with collecting these products for girls who are in need.

Her mother, Hantie Koch, said all donations will be distributed towards a charity. “Samantha has been doing pageants since she was three years old. Her first one was a face-of-the-year pageant. She’s won numerous titles and wants to take part in Miss South Africa one day. Her dream is to be a high-fashion model. She also wants to use her titles to help the less fortunate and those who are in need,” she said.

Hantie said to support this campaign, donations can be dropped off at the following places: Amanzimtoti Rugby Club, Thirsty Whale, Aquarius Pharmacy in Amanzimtoti Mall, BP Garage in Doonside, Hair by Belinda at Southgate Business Park, Kuswag Skool, Warner Beach Preparatory School and the Toti Hair Salon.

“Each of these wonderful businesses has been willing to help us with this amazing campaign. Together we can change the lives of so many girls,” she added.

The pageant finale takes place on October 21 at the Luxury Simbithi Country Club and Fig Tree Restaurant in Ballito.
