Amanzimtoti Youth Desk calls on additional members

The youth crime-prevention desk invites passionate, dedicated people between the ages of 18 and 35 to attend its meeting on October 21.

AMANZIMTOTI Youth Crime Prevention Desk is co-opting additional members, namely a vice-chairperson and vice-secretary, to join its team.

The Youth Desk, implemented by the Amanzimtoti Police Station, is looking for passionate and dedicated people between the ages of 18 and 35 who are willing to make a difference in the community.

The Youth Desk exists to encourage and enable young people to participate actively in identifying the causes of youth violence and crime, and to collaborate in creating social crime-prevention strategies for their communities.

The elected members will voluntarily serve their communities by: Assisting in identifying safety needs of youth; developing and implementing programmes to address identified safety needs; enabling youth to act as good citizens and role models, and empowering youth in crime prevention, as well as communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.

Those interested are invited to attend the meeting at the police station’s lecture room on October 10 at 18:00.
