Khanya Hospice to benefit from Symphony of Love concert

The concert, featuring Indian songstress Pratibha Singh Baghel and the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, takes place next weekend, on September 24.

KHANYA Hospice presents its benefit concert, Symphony of Love, featuring Indian songstress Pratibha Singh Baghel, live at the Durban ICC on September 24 at 19:00.

Pratibha will be accompanied by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and an eight-piece international band, presenting film classics, ghazals and current hits.

The proceeds of the concert will go to the hospice in order to sustain the free nursing care that it offers to people with life-threatening diseases, as well as support to their families.

Symphony of Love is conceptualised and produced by Inner Circle Entertainment and is presented in partnership with Khulisa Foundation Trust, Emirates Airline, Zee TV, Hindvani and Polar Ice Cream.

About Pratibha Singh Baghel:

Based in Mumbai, she is an Indian songstress and actress who has lent her voice to many songs in movies, as well as the hit web series, Bandish Bandits. She also acted and sang in the highly acclaimed stage production, Mughal e Azam.

In 2019, she played the lead role and sang in the theatrical musical play, Umrao Jaan Ada, which was adapted for stage by the acclaimed music duo, Salim Sulaiman. In 2020, she released her first ghazal album titled Bole Naina, which featured the legendary lyricist, Gulzar, and tabla maestro, Zakir Hussain.

This video attracted 50 million views in two days. She is regularly featured on the Sufiscore and Bazm-e-Khas YouTube channels.

She also performed live on stage with great music directors, including AR Rahman and Salim Sulaiman. In 2008, she was the recipient of the Lata Mangeshkar Alankaran Award.
