Thandeka said she was humbled by being nominated in the Entrepreneur of the Year category as she was not aware that her input as a businesswoman was being noticed. She is the founder of Sakha Isizwe FM, and she also owns an upholstery deep-cleaning business.

“Just being nominated means a lot to me because it means I’m seen. This is the first time I have been nominated among such successful businesswomen, and it humbles me. Whether I win or not, this will make me work even harder and continue to be an inspiration to others who want to start their own businesses,” said Thandeka.

While in other categories, voters can vote for nominees, the Entrepreneur of the Year category winner is voted for by the judges. According to a statement by the organisers, the awards aim to honour women who go the extra mile to ensure that the communities around them are developed. They must provide an enabling environment for the community to develop and sustain itself.
