Amanzimtoti SPCA grateful for donations

The animal shelter thanks all those who donated animal food and funds towards their annual dinner fund.

THE Amanzimtoti SPCA are grateful for all the contributions towards their Doggy Dinner Fund, which saw individuals’ Christmas or pet tribute messages printed in the SUN to raise the funds.

“We would love to thank all the community members for thinking of us, even during these very difficult times when everyone is struggling financially. Our heartfelt and sincerest thanks go out to everyone who contributed to the fund,” said the SPCA’s Michelle Hannan.

All donations helped with the purchase of pet food as well as the daily running of the animal shelter. “We had a few animals come in after the December festivities, so the food donations were a big help. We had a few strays, with a few claimed. We also have some beautiful dogs up for adoption that we need to feed. However, our stock is now running low, and we desperately need dog/puppy and cat/kitten food,” said Hannan.

Final donations to the fund included:

R1 200 for “Merry Christmas to our darlings, Daisy and Bree. And in loving memory of all our dogs and cats who gave us so much joy over the years.”

Virginia and Tubby Waldeck gave R2 000 for “In loving memory of my beloved mom, Gladys Govender. Love from Sashni, Lincoln, Mervin and Jerome.”

R100 for “In loving memory of Prince Pappa. Love, the Hiraman family.”
