Mixed bag of results for Amanzimtoti Cricket Club

The club's teams brought home a mixed bag of results, with one player scoring 119 runs.

DESPITE an all-round win for Amanzimtoti Cricket Club’s (ACC) teams last weekend, only two of the five teams managed to beat their opponents on November 5 and 6.

The results are as follows:

ACC Third Team vs Silver Saints on Toti 2 

ACC batted first and scored 259 in their allotted 30 overs, for the loss of 6 wickets. Jarryd Chetty scored an amazing 119 runs. The other run scorers were Adriaan Britz (50), Cameron Warner (27) and Jerome Charles (30). ACC got Silver Saints out for 64 runs in just 15.1 overs.

Kevin Thole took an excellent 4 wickets for only 11 runs. The other wickets were taken by Fourie Pieters (2), Dominic Coetzer (1), Brad Naidoo (1) and Hayden van der Westhuizen (1). ACC won the game by 4 wickets.

ACC Second Team vs Simplex 2 on the Toti Oval

The format was a 50-over match. Simplex batted first and were all out for 264. Zander de Coning took 4 wickets for only 22 runs, and Jandre Fourie took 3 wickets for only 18 runs. Jareth Praschma and Mason Storm each took 1 wicket.

ACC scored 266 runs for 4 wickets in 46 overs, winning the game by 6 wickets. Zander and Mason had an excellent innings, scoring 96 and 97 respectively. The other run scorers were Jandre Fourie (24), Jareth Praschma (18) not out and Tiveshan Naidoo (4) not out.

ACC First Team vs Simplex RHCC at Durban High School

Simplex batted first and scored 400 for 5 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. The wickets were taken by Morgan Potgieter (2), Jared Michaux (1), Dylan Labuschagne (1) and 1 run-out. Unfortunately, ACC never really got going and were bowled out for 146 runs.

The runs were scored by Jared Michaux (19), Gareth Lonie (13), Dale Kinsey (38), Corne Nel (14), Dillon Bryan (24) and Morgan Potgieter (15).

ACC Ladies vs DHSOB Ladies on Toti 2

ACC batted first and scored 127 runs for 7 wickets. The runs were scored by Kaylee Stadler (54) and Luzaan Gerber (27). DHSOB scored 129 for no loss, thus winning the game by 7 wickets.

ACC Vets vs KCCD in Empangeni

ACC batted first and were bowled out for 33 runs. KCCD scored 34 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, winning the game by 7 wickets. The wickets were taken by Graham Heine (2) and Hennie Nienaber (1).
