Bobbi Bear receives much-needed donation

The hospital staff said they plan to collect supplies for charity every few months – not only as a once-off event.

The staff from Netcare Kingsway Hospital made a donation of groceries and gifts at Operation Bobbi Bear in Doonside recently.

Chanel Sideah said she and her colleagues, who work at the hospital’s pharmacy, chose Bobbi Bear because of their constant need for supplies.

“The idea of doing this grocery drive came from one of our interns, and our management liked the idea. We then proceeded to collect the donations from staff , and we were surprised at how successful it was,” said Sideah.

After seeing its success, Sideah said they plan to collect supplies for charity every few months – not just to make it a once-off event.

Operation Bobbi Bear is a human rights organisation committed and dedicated to working with and assisting sexually abused children.
