Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum needs patrollers

Community policing plays an integral role in increasing safety within residential areas.

THE Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum (CPF) is calling on members of the community to connect with their neighbourhood watches and help patrol the streets to keep the town safe from crime.

Amanzimtoti CPF public relations officer, Estelle van Eeden said, “Community policing plays an integral part in increasing safety within residential areas and offers support to law enforcement throughout Amanzimtoti as their eyes and ears within the community.”

Volunteer patrollers work in partnership with security companies, the Amanzimtoti police station and metro police, patrolling their neighbourhoods, from Athlone Park all the way to Illovo Township.

“They do this every night to deter crime and as part of the ongoing proactive safekeeping activities. Together we can create connected communities where families can live safe and secure,” said Van Eeden.

The established neighbourhood watch and sub-forums are:

  • Warner Beach South Neighbourhood Watch
  • Doonside Neighbourhood Watch
  • Athlone Park CPF Sub-Forum
  • Toti Berea CPF Sub-Forum
  • Illovo Township CPF Sub-Forum
  • St. Winifreds Neighbourhood Watch
  • Toti Central Neighbourhood Watch
  • Illovo Beach Neighbourhood Watch

Residents are encouraged to connect with and join their neighbourhood watches. For more information or to join, contact Estelle van Eeden at pro@toticpf.org.za
