Chief Provincial Inspector Lindsay Naidoo assumed her duties on June 1, after the centre spent many years without a station commander.
As she is only a few days into the new job, Lindsay said she is still taking in all the information that will be useful in her role in strategic planning, overseeing, and meeting targets. She said she is open to learning from other people’s experiences and she always takes advice where needed.

“I am the type of leader and manager that inspires, communicates clearly, and listens attentively. I believe in planning properly and finding solutions. As cliché as it sounds, y do believe in teamwork. It is said a good manager is gofocuseded and imparts skills, then there is myself, a combination of both – a transformational type of station commander,” she said.

Lindsay joined the RTI in 2006, starting in Zululand. She has also worked at the RTI training college in Pietermaritzburg as a facilitator, spending 13 years training officers in various fields until she successfully applied for the Winklespruit position.

On top of her facilitator and assessor qualifications, Lindsay holds a National Diploma in Traffic and Metropolitan Policing, and a National Diploma in Marketing Management. She is also a Grade A examiner of vehicles, as well as a Grade A examiner of driving licenses.
