Hearts of Toti help flood-stricken families

Hearts of Toti is a non-profit organistion, which hands out monthly food parcels to families in Amanzimtoti and surrounds.

IT was a busy weekend for Hearts of Toti amid more heavy rains and flooding, and the resultant overwhelming requests for help.

Hearts of Toti, a non-profit organistion, distributes monthly food parcels to families in Amanzimtoti and surrounds.

They also assist people with their Sassa grants, UIF applications, drawing up of CV’s as well as sending them out for employment. They get involved in many projects with the aim of serving the community.

Currently, their biggest request is for food and bedding.

“It’s also a very sad time for us as Goodness Shezi’s house has been severely affected by the rains and floods. Her bedroom wall has completely collapsed and there is major damage to her belongings,” said founder of Hearts of Toti, Shanay Kapp.

Goodness helps with the sorting, decanting, packing and carrying of items to assist others in need.

Hearts of Toti are hoping that they can now help her. Their priority is to get her house fixed. “We have put up a temporary ‘solution’, but if it rains again this will not hold,” said Kapp.
