Bag pipers heard in preparation for Highland Gathering

"If you've got nothing else to do, if you've got something to do, doesn't matter what, the only place you'd want to be this Saturday is at the Highland Gathering."

ON Thursday, April 28, Ward 97 councillor André Beetge provided a live update from Hutchinson Park where bag pipers began practicing ahead of the Highland Gathering on Saturday, April 30.

“This last two weeks have been negative, we have been without water, power and anyone to reach out to. This weekend we are going to go positive in Amanzimtoti to the point where we are even going to sell water cheap.

“Join us this Saturday in Hutchinson Park where the Lions of Amanzimtoti will be hosting the biggest spectacle of Scottish bands in the southern hemisphere,” said Beetge.

There is going to be food stalls, Durban Tourism activations, a rickshaw bus and pullers, an events arena, Metro Police, the fire department, a flea market and much more.

Beetge also said, “If you’ve got nothing else to do, if you’ve got something to do, doesn’t matter what, the only place you’d want to be this weekend is at the Highland Gathering from 09:00 to 21:00.”
