Two arrested for cellphone theft in Doonside

Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

TWO suspects were found in possession of stolen cellphones and narcotics in Doonside on Monday, November 15.

“Information was circulated by our Tactical Response Team regarding a vehicle used in the commission of a theft of cellphone incident that took place at a business premises in Doonside, Amanzimtoti,” said ET South Coast managing member, Tony Lokker.

Shortly after the theft incident, the vehicle was spotted travelling along the N2 freeway, and together with members of the SAPS Provincial Trio Task team, the vehicle was intercepted. ALSO READ: Women robbed off their cellphones in Amanzimtoti

“The occupants were then searched, which resulted in the suspects being found in possession of two cellphones which were stolen in separate theft incidents in the Amanzimtoti area, as well as narcotics. The vehicle used in the crimes was also found to be displaying false plates.”
