Amanzimtoti canoeist dies after suspected heart attack

A full investigation into Chiazzari's death will be carried out.

AMANZIMTOTI resident and well-known canoeist, Dean Chiazzari died after a suspected heart attack on Friday, October 8.

The 31-year-old was being transported back to Cradock when it is believed he suffered a heart attack.

“No words can describe the pain we are all feeling at this time,” said the Fish River Canoe Marathon chairman, Roy Copeman, who offered his condolences to the family and friends of the paddler.

A full investigation into Chiazzari’s death will be carried out.  Updates to follow.
