Athlone Park author pens second book

He believes that the reader should gain inner transformation and personal satisfaction after reading The Key of David.

Athlone Park author and senior pastor of House of Nations, Rajan Govender, recently launched his second book during the pandemic.  The book titled, The Key of David, was penned to encourage people to become strong leaders to transform and administrate their lives.

“I started writing during lockdown and I did a sermon series at church. I didn’t know what was going to happen in South Africa at that time in terms of the unrest. Therefore the writing is about wisdom for governance and administration internally. I was just inspired by God to write quickly. This coincided with some of the things happening in the country before the unrest,” said the talented writer.

The book is about inspiration and stems from Rajan’s life’s work.

“We have an absence of strong and moral leadership and the book is about how to govern and administrate from a kingdom perspective of righteousness and justice. We need transformational leaders with good ethical values. The problem is that we don’t have people with the right motive and heart attitude. The narrative is about how important it is for us as human vessels to be configured in a certain way to bring change. We lead by example. We must be selfless in our dealings. We are leaders and leaders must give hope and inspiration in the midst of the challenges we face. It is important when we take on positions of authority that we don’t operate with personal ambition but serve in a way to benefit others. This can never happen if we don’t have the right heart in the positions we occupy. What we do today affects the next generation and we must think and build transgenerationally. We must have a good consciousness towards God and man,” said the 52-year-old pastor.

He believes that the reader should gain inner transformation and personal satisfaction after reading The Key of David. His first book, Sons of Peace, was well received by the community. Rajan has always had a deep-rooted passion for writing and humanity decided to merge both aspects.

“If each one does a little bit or their own little bit, we are all doing much. This is what the book teaches. We need good, strong and motivated leaders.”

He is currently working on another material will probably be seen in the near future.  The book can be purchased from the House of Nations.
