Runners perform exceptionally at KwaZulu-Natal Cross-country Championships

The Athletic South Africa National Championships is scheduled for Saturday, September 18 at Hutchison Park.

Despite the gloomy and rainy weather, runners from far and wide attended the 2021 KwaZulu-Natal Cross-country Championships on Sunday, August 14 at Hutchison Park. “Despite short notice for the event and inclement weather on race day we can all give ourselves a pat on the back for a successful event. Over and above the weather we had to organise the event within Covid-19 restrictions. It didn’t always went smoothly, but the new normal for athletics events are slowly becoming part of our organised events,” said the organisers of the cross-country championships.

They thanked all those who were involved in the success of the event.

“A big thank you to the organising committee, AAC, officials, time-keepers and most importantly our volunteers for making this event happen. It takes a team effort to put these events together.

Thank you to our supporting sponsors, Ethekwini municipality and KZN department of sport. We appreciate your assistance.

“To all the athletes, coaches and supporters, thank you for adhering to our protocols. Congratulations to all the KZN Athletics champions. If you did not medal, thank you for a great day of cross-country racing.”
