CCPO recovers bodyboards and apprehends suspects

The suspects were then taken to Amanzimtoti SAPS where they were charged and detained. The stolen property was also handed over to saps.

CCPO has made several recoveries and arrests this week.  Through the strong ties that CCPO committee member, George Snodey has with local pawn businesses resulted in the recovery of two bodyboards recently.

“We received photos of two body boards and a wetsuit that were stolen from Baggies Beach. I called all the shops in Warner Beach and asked them to look out for these boards. Makro Pawn called and said that someone was trying to sell them the boards. I asked them to try and delay the suspect and made my way to the shop. On arrival, I took a photo and sent it to the youngster’s mom, who immediately recognised the board. By this time ET Rapid members had arrived to assist along with our CCPO supervisor Logan Naidoo and his crew.”

The suspect was located and took members to the dunes where the other board was found.  The suspects were then taken to Amanzimtoti SAPS where they were charged and detained. The stolen property was also handed over to saps.
