Ons Winkel needs donations

Helping Hand’s Study Fund provides interest-free study loans to needy students who qualify to study further, but do not have the financial means to do so.

Solidarity Helping Hand’s popular charity donation shop, Ons Winkel (Our Shop), appeals for donations to continue doing its wonderful work.
Ons Winkel also appeals for donations of clothing, furniture, antiques, kitchenware, bedding, curtains, toys, shoes, sports and technological equipment to anything else cluttering your home.

Karen Duyvestyn, who is the owner of Ons Winkel, Amanzimtoti, one of almost 60 such charity shops nationwide, situated on 25 Main Road in Doonside said, “At the moment we are finding it difficult financially and we are desperate for any pre-loved items that can be resold. There is value in almost everything and your donation could go a long way.”

The store is open six days a week from 9am to 5pm on weekdays and 8am to 12pm on Saturdays.

“We are also advertising items on our Facebook page, so residents can browse through online and pick up their goods at our store,” she added.

Helping Hand’s Study Fund provides interest-free study loans to needy students who qualify to study further, but do not have the financial means to do so. The proceeds are also used for several other projects, such as children and senior organisations that are aimed at alleviating, ending and preventing poverty.
