CCPO recovers items stolen from Amanzimtoti school

A case was opened at Amanzimtoti SAPS.

Members of CCPO were kept busy recovering several stolen items recently.

“A ladder was recovered by a CCPO foot patroller in John Craven Place. It is possibly stolen from the Fynn Road or Somerset Place,” said committee member, George Snodey.

The ladder was handed over to Amanzimtoti Saps.

“After getting a lead from one of my reliable informers that a school had its ride-on lawnmower stolen two weeks ago, I called the relevant people to make certain that it had been stolen. They were unaware it had been stolen and checked before confirming it was stolen.”

A case was opened at Amanzimtoti SAPS.

“Members of ET Rapid Response, Toti Saps Crime Intelligence Division and I went to Berea with the assistance of reservist Greg Albert and members from Berea Saps we proceeded to the residence where the machine was sold.
The mower, a bag of netballs, three boxes of new cricket balls were recovered.  The suspect who bought the items was arrested for being in possession of stolen property. All the stolen property was recovered within 15 hours of getting the information.”

CCPO also started the process of finding the suspect who is known to the members.

“While searching for him we received some good news. He had been arrested the day before for shoplifting and was in the cells. The information was relayed back to the investigating officer, who will now charge the suspect for the school’s break-in.”
