Suspects arrested for battery theft

The suspects attempted to flee but they were cornered.

Battery thieves were netted in Isipingo during an operation conducted by PT Alarms, over the Easter weekend.

“Two suspects in a silver Toyota Etios sedan, believed to be behind the repeated battery thefts, were spotted by our guarding officers.  The suspects knew they were spotted and an alarm was raised,” said spokesperson of the organisation, Trishen Govender.

The suspects attempted to flee but they were cornered.

“They were apprehended and the owner of the premises was informed and arrived quickly on the scene. SAPS responded quickly and implements used to disconnect the truck batteries were found in the suspects’ vehicle. The suspects were placed under arrest and taken to SAPS for further processing and investigations are underway.”
