Our patient numbers have actually increased during this time, although we’ve had to scale down a bit. We have had 10 new patients put on our programme during this time.

“The pandemic had a huge impact on our finances when our three shops, which generate most of our monthly income, had to close. The shops sustains the free palliative nursing care that we offer.”

We were pro-active and from the start gave all our staff and volunteers working in the shops latex gloves, masks and sanitisers, and made sure they were using them. We have also had to make sure our nursing staff are protected as well. We have policies and procedures in place and our nursing manager gave the staff training on Covid-19.”
