Art on Kingsway closes its doors

Many beautiful paintings have been showcased at the gallery, normally over 140 per month of every medium and subject conceivable.

The Art on Kingsway Gallery which has been beautifying the community for three years has closed its doors.
This comes in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The organisation’s Patricia McCann said, “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our benefactor Mr Hansa for allowing us the excuse to be at his beautiful venue at Toti Oasis. Three years ago Brenda Pratt saw the beautiful opportunity of an art gallery being at the Oasis and we approached Hansa with the suggestion of a pop-up gallery. He was very open to the idea because he enjoys being available for the community and assisting in any way he can. We have now been there for three years and enjoyed the wonderful views, the foot traffic and the community participation.”

“We have held showcases, challenges for our artists and monthly meetings when we showcased various artists from surrounding areas. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, we feel it’s best to close the doors and adhere to our social responsibility. All the artists that have participated in the Art on Kingsway feel totally grateful to our landlord for an opportunity that was far beyond our dreams. To those visitors to our gallery, we thank you for supporting us, for your comments and praises and for allowing us to develop our artistic ability further. We hope that everyone stays safe and healthy and we hope this virus disappears as fast as it appeared in our country. Thank you, everyone, our gratitude to the incredibly creative artists that have supported us over the last three years and continuously brought in beautiful artworks month after month,” she added.
