Shoplifters bust in Isipingo

Staff noticed two suspects stealing goods off the shelves and were too afraid to approach the culprits.

Two Isipingo shoplifters are behind bars thanks to the rapid response of a local security company. The Fidelity ADT Security monitoring centre received a panic alarm activation from a grocery store in Lotus Park and armed response officer, Sibonelo Ngcobo, responded to the Egret Crescent store.

“Staff at the grocery store noticed two suspects stealing goods off the shelves and were too afraid to approach the culprits and wisely decided to notify our team to assist with the matter,” said Fidelity ADT’s district manager for KZN, Vaughan Pillay.

Upon arrival, Ngcobo asked the pair to empty their pockets which revealed several hidden items that they were not planning on paying for, confirming that they were attempting to steal from the shop. Both were handed over to SAPS for arrest and the stolen goods were returned to the store owner.
