Residents urged to continue recycling

Residents are encouraged to drop off their recyclables at the Amanzimtoti site.

Locally based organisation, Social Waste Management’s Jean-Claude Matthysen urges residents to continue recycling despite the slow down of orange bag collections recently.

“We are still collecting when we can, unfortunately, due to our project being given notice by eThekwini Municipality, we have been given no other choice but to stop our operations and move to our other premises at Giba Gorge MTB Park in Westmead until we can source land locally.  We are passionate and really appreciate everyone’s engagement in our project this far.”

He also encourages the community to continue recycling.

“Residents are more than welcome to drop off their recyclables at our Amanzimtoti site. We promise you that we have our hearts set on finding solutions to get up and running again. We’re also looking for anyone who is able to offer assistance with sponsorship of land, vehicles or a donation towards it, as we only have one bantam bakkie to run our entire operation,” he added.
