Vehicle theft syndicate busted in Amanzimtoti

The vehicle was spotted in Warner Beach and members followed the vehicle into Doonside.

Four car thieves luck ran out in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 23 October in Amanzimtoti. According to CCPO committee member, George Snodey, they were nabbed in Doonside after clever policing by CCPO, ET Rapid Response and Blue Security officers and private CCPO volunteers, assisted by Amanzimtoti SAPS crime prevention unit.

“The description of a vehicle used in the attempted theft of a Ford Ranger in Umhlanga was circulated on the CCPO radio. Members went out early on Wednesday morning patrolling, on the hunt for these thieves, who have been killing Amanzimtoti precinct for theft of motor vehicles recently,” said Snodey.

 

The vehicle was spotted in Warner Beach and members followed the vehicle into Doonside where they stopped at a garage. SAPS crime prevention officers searched the vehicle, where sophisticated car stealing equipment were found in their possession. All four suspects were detained at Amanzimtoti SAPS for further processing.
