Highway Cricketers take on ACC women’s side

The group of 21 boys enjoyed using the nets and superb facilities that ACC boasts.

An excellent game of ball was played at a T20 cricket match between the Highway Cricketers and Amanzimtoti Cricket Club (ACC) women’s side on Sunday, 8 September at the Amanzimtoti Sports Centre. The Highway boys batted first and scored a total of 115/7.

Top scorer was Melusi Ngcobo with 26 from 23 balls. ACC’s Nikita Bezuidenhout claimed 2/10 in her four overs.
In reply, the women’s side was bowled out in the 17th over with 80 runs on the board, giving the Highway boys their first taste of victory. Captain Chandre Anker top scored with 18 runs from 20 balls. Magic bowling from Thando Ndelo saw him grab 4/12.

The group of 21 boys enjoyed using the nets and superb facilities that ACC boasts and after the match all players were treated to a scrumptious lunch, followed by a friendly game with mixed teams until the sun went down.
The match doubled as a warm-up match for the women’s season which is set to commence in three weeks.
