Municipal news briefs

Residents are urged to report sewage outfall and water leaks to eThekwini Municipality and not just on social media platforms.

Ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge has shared some recent municipal news. Recent water outages in Illovo Beach are due to a faulty reservoir supply valve. Initially a burst pipe in Elizabeth Avenue was the cause, however a faulty value was then discovered and serviced. “Getting back up to pressure has been a problem, but the department is aware of it and is working to resolve the issue,” said Beetge.

Adams Road
Adams Road, from Old Main Road to the Lewis and Isundu intersection is being resurfaced. “It should take two to three weeks to be completed, thereafter road markings will be painted and cat’s eyes inserted. Drivers must exercise caution and be aware it is causing congestion,” said Beetge.

Hall Road
Drivers in the vicinity of Hall Road, Warner Beach are reminded to be cautious while upgrades are being done to the parking and paving by Kingsburgh library.

Street lights
A contractor has not yet been appointed to replace and repair faulty street lights and in all possibly this could be delayed until the next financial year.
