Umbumbulu man arrested for unlicensed firearm

The firearm will be taken to ballistics for possible links to other cases.

An Umbumbulu man was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Tuesday, 4 June in an intelligence driven operation between eThekwini Outer South (EOS) cluster members and Durban Public Order Police.

The 30-year old man was found with an unlicensed Norinco Star pistol and five rounds of live ammunition at Mdumezulu in the Umbumbulu area. A case has been opened at Umbumbulu SAPS and the firearm will be taken to ballistics for possible links to other cases.
