Book your stall at fundraising fete

Art and crafters are invited to apply for a stall for the morning, at a cost of R100.

Poinsettia Park Retirement Centre residents are gearing up for their annual fundraising fete, which is scheduled for Saturday, 29 June. “Many of the goods that will be on sale on the day are made by our residents who work the whole year towards this important event,” said Poinsettia Park manager of community services, Wendy Lloyd.

On offer will be beautiful handbags, knitted goods, handmade toys, hand-sewn items, children’s clothing, jewellery, a pet stall, jams, chutneys, pickled onions and preserves, home-baked cakes, pancakes, boerewors rolls, samoosas and curries. “There will also be plants, succulents, artwork, books, CDs and a stall especially for the men, named the ‘man cave’, which will sell odds and ends that appeal to them.

“For the children there will be pony rides, a jumping castle, children’s games and a tombola stall.” There will also be a tea garden serving lots of lovely treats while you watch the Poinsettia line dancers and exercise group entertaining you. The DJ for the day is Belinda Dolphin, with sound supplied by SAS Productions. The theme for this year’s fete is cartoons, so dress up in your favourite character and join in the fun from 8am to noon at 619 Kingsway, Amanzimtoti.

Art and crafters are invited to apply for a stall for the morning, at a cost of R100, but hurry as space is limited. “The funds raised from our annual fete are used for the maintenance and the upkeep of the home – this is an ongoing task and we request the Toti public to support us,” said Wendy.
