Lions club celebrates roaring success

During the winter months the fleamarket opens at 7.30am until 11am.

During the past year, the Kingsburgh Lions Club has increased its membership by four members and has hit the new year running.

New members are Chris Butler, Dave Rigby, Eveline van Niekerk and Diane Petersen. The club now boasts 14 members, all of whom are actively involved in their many ongoing projects.

Their newest venture, the monthly fleamarkets held on the first Saturday of every month in conjunction with St Mary’s Anglican Church in Warner Beach, is growing from strength to strength. “Even rainy days don’t put a damper on most of the die-hard stall holders or avid shoppers who always find something useful at most reasonable prices,” said Lion Lynn Lyle.

“In addition to bargains, Maggie and Chris Butler’s vetkoeks and Eveline and Dave’s pancakes have gained great fame and many shoppers drop in just to sample the eats provided by the Lions, as well as members of St Mary’s Church to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with friends,” she added.

During the winter months the fleamarket opens at 7.30am and the morning draws to a close for shoppers between 10.30am and 11am.
