Although a small club, the club achieved some phenomenal results

TOTI Titans Swimming Club sent four of their swimmers to race in Bloemfontein at the Level 3 National Swimming Championships from 28 to 31 March.

Although a small club, the club achieved some phenomenal results bringing home two gold medals and three silver medals, 16 finals (top 10 placings) and 20 personal bests between them.

Nicholas Nel raced in the 16 to 18 years age group and although he’s only just turned 16, he managed to make it to two finals, finishing eighth for the 50m butterfly and seventh for the 100m butterfly. He also swam seven personal best times.

Matthew Maree raced in the 12-year-old age group. He made finals for all nine of his races and won a gold medal for 100m butterfly in a time of 1:14:53 and three silver medals for 50m butterfly, 100m and 200m backstroke. He swam eight personal best times and is now ranked second in SA for level three 100m butterfly.
