Round Table 85’s Winter Knights drive redistributes warmth to Bobbi Bear

THE Amanzimtoti Round Table were out in full force to garner donations for their annual national project, Winter Knights of Round Table on Saturday, 30 June.
“The goal of this national project is to mobilise all Tablers into collecting items which will benefit less fortunate families during the cold winter months,” said chairman Robby Ducasse.
“These items range from blankets and warm clothes, to non-perishable food items, which are then redistributed to people who need it the most in each Table’s community.”
Amanzimtoti RT 85 set up its collection point at the entrance of Pick ‘n Pay Arbour Crossing and appealed to the public to donate to this worthy cause.
“The morning started slow, but once the wonderful people of Amanzimtoti were up and out to do their shopping, they generously contributed at our drop-off point. Amanzimtoti Round Table totalled a full bakkie-load collection of non-perishable food items, as well as two black bags full of clothes,” explained Ducasse.
“Once we had packed up, happy with how the people of our town supported this all-important drive, our team handed over the goods to the well-known children’s charity in Amanzimtoti, Operation Bobbi Bear. The food and clothes will be distributed by Bobbi Bear to the many children in need of warmth and comfort during these cold winter months.”
Amanzimtoti Round Table 85 thanked every member of the community who came out on the day to so generously donate to the children of the town.
Ducasse urged those still wanting to donate warm items to email totitable85@gmail.com, so it can arrange for donations to reach those in need.
Any men between 18 and 40 years of age who are interested in joining the Round Table, should call chairman Robby Ducasse on 081-327-0212, so that you can join in on the next meeting to work towards bettering the lives of those of the Amanzimtoti community.
