Beat the ageing process with kitchen ingredients

Beat the blues of dry, saggy, ageing skin, puffy eyes, sun spots and more with miracle ingredients found no further than in your kitchen.

If you’re not searching for the secret to beautiful, young-looking skin then good for you; many can take a feather from your cap. Accepting life’s passing is always a tough one. But for those who are looking for the mystery potion and trying all kinds of products, look no further than your kitchen.

Tips to combat the toll life takes on us, physically, from goodies found in your kitchen:

Reduce those unwanted age spots

Make a mask by mixing 1 teaspoon of lemon juice with 1 teaspoon of honey. Apply the mask and leave it on your skin for 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

Soothe the puffy eyes

Make a cup of white tea and once it has cooled, soak a facecloth in it and place it over your eyes. This will open your pores and deflate the bags under your eyes.

Moisturise your dry skin

Coconut oil is known for its variety of health and beauty benefits, here’s another to add to the list. Apply coconut oil to your face, leave it on for 20 minutes, and rinse off with warm water or gently massage into your face and don’t rinse off.

Firm up your skin

Make a paw-paw mask by cutting up half a ripe paw-paw and mashing it into a paste. Apply to your face, and wash away with warm water after 15 minutes.

Tighten skin and clear your pores

Mix 2 teaspoons of rose water with 4 drops glycerine and juice of ½ a lemon. Apply to your face with cotton wool before you go to bed.

To deeply hydrate your skin

Rub a few drops of extra virgin olive oil into your skin, massage in, and add a few drops to your bath to beat scaly legs and arms (especially common in winter).

Try this one out: Brown sugar and olive oil face scrub for dry skin 

Brighten up your skin

Soak a cotton pad or wool with pure orange juice (try freshly squeezed) and apply to your face and neck. Rinse with water and dab dry. By incorporating more into your diet you will notice your skin brighten and build a stronger immune system and more.
