BREAKING: Man struck by train in Amanzimtoti as South Coast rail service resumes

Amanzimtoti paramedic Chris Botha said the man was doing a survey of the lines.

A man believed to be 84-years-old was hit by a goods train in Warner Beach on Monday morning, 15 January, as the train service resumed on the Upper South Coast this morning.

Amanzimtoti paramedic Chris Botha said the man was doing a survey of the lines when he was hit by the train at about 9.30am. He sustained serious injuries.

He was treated by ER24 paramedics on the scene and transported to Kingsway Hospital.
