A four-year-old toddler under the supervision of family while at Amanzimtoti’s Pipeline Beach, tragically drowned on Saturday evening, 13 January just after 7pm.
According to ward 97’s Cllr Andre Beetge, this stretch of beach, which is accessible via a series of footpaths leading off the recreation and picnic area, is not a designated bathing beach. However, it is patrolled by two lifeguards during peak season and weekends.
