No orange bag recycling collections in Amanzimtoti ‘until further notice’

Residents are requested to continue separating waste but not leave orange bags out for collection, rather store them if possible.

THE offices of MPact, which works in conjunction with Durban Solid Waste (DSW) were damaged by the heavy rains in October and as a result of ongoing related repairs, orange bags will not be collected until further notice.

The premises will be undergoing the repairs in December and January.

“Residents are requested to continue separating waste but not leave orange bags out for collection, rather store them if possible,” said Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA) committee member, Colleen Gill. “This should not be a problem as everything deposited in these bags should be clean anyway.”

It is advised to call on DSW in Old Main Road on 031-311-1111 if you run out of bags. DSW also has bags specifically for glass and tins.

“Let’s keep our town clean and litter-free over the Christmas season and continue to do so into the new year,” she advised.
