Ocean View Road residents tied up while home invaders loot

Fortunately this time we didn’t have any serious injuries inflicted.

Athlone Park residents were tied up and their Ocean View Road home looted during a home invasion on Friday, 8 December.

According to Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) committee member, George Snodey, the residents were cable tied and the robbers loaded their stolen goods into the home owners’ two vehicles and drove off. “The vehicles were later found abandoned in Cato Manor,” said Snodey.

“Once again we have residents believing that if you have lived in your home for 20 years and had no criminal activity, you are going to be okay forever. It doesn’t work like that but you still get those who refuse to listen.

The CCPO has slowed crime down in our area for a long time now but for it to run more effectively, we need every resident to support it, so we can saturate the residential areas with guards on foot and in vehicles.

Fortunately this time we didn’t have any serious injuries inflicted but it’s just a matter of time before this changes. You have seen and heard how many criminals the CCPO arrests and chases out of our area. Now it’s time for you to support it if you are not on board.” To join the CCPO, call the office on 031-903-7037 or Snodey on 083-655-4302.
