Burglary ends badly for Amanzimtoti criminal

He was positively identified on camera footage at the property.

A housebreaker was apprehended by the Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) after he attempted to steal from a Ridge Road property on Tuesday morning, 17 October.

According to CCPO committee member, George Snodey, the man used a long pole to try and steal light fittings.

“He was disturbed and fled towards Toti CBD,” said Snodey. The CCPO received a message about the incident, along with the man’s description.

CCPO Blue Security and Chubb Security officers starting searching for him before CCPO and Blue Security patrol officer, Mbuyiselo ‘Triple M’ Mdunjane and his crewman Isaac Dindi managed to locate and detain the man in the taxi rank.

“He was positively identified on camera footage at the property and taken to Toti SAPS, where the home owner arrived to open a case,” said Snodey.
