STORM UPDATE: Fire department responds to #DurbanStorm flooded homes, rescues disabled child after roof collapses

All the fire department's vehicles are still currently out.

Both Amanzimtoti and Mobeni fire departments have been inundated with rescue calls since 8.30am this morning (Tuesday, 10 October).

This owing to the huge storm system which has lashed South Durban, with strong winds and heavy rain causing widespread damage.

All the fire department’s vehicles are still currently out, helping people whose homes have been flooded and motorists who have been stranded on the N2. They also assisted in Merebank where a disabled child was trapped after a roof collapsed and in Isipingo, where many of the houses have been flooded.

The KZN Sharks Board said only three sharks nets, south of Inyoni Rocks, have been removed. They could not launch from Hibberdene down south due to this morning’s bad weather.
