Gunmen ‘execute’ duo in KwaMakhutha home

Community members to assist the police if they have any information.

KwaMakhutha was rocked by a double murder on Friday night, 28 July.

“It is alleged that at about 10pm the victims, aged 17 and 27, were socialising in a house in the Adams Mission area when unknown gunmen entered and fatally shot the victims,” said Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane of the SAPS KZN media centre.

“Nothing appears to have been taken from the room. Charges of murder were opened at KwaMakhutha police station for investigation. We appeal to anyone who might have information about the suspects to contact the local police or crime stop on 086-001-0111.”

KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda strongly condemned the killing of the two men. Kaunda said he was deeply concerned about the execution-style murder of these men.

“We want those responsible for this dastardly deed to be caught and prosecuted swiftly. We cannot allow criminals to hold our communities at ransom. We will not allow thugs to roam freely in our streets,” he said.

The MEC has assured citizens of KwaMakhutha that the local SAPS will work around the clock to rid society of these criminals.

He appealed to community members to assist the police if they have any information that may lead to the arrest of those responsible for these murders.
