Drop safe blown up in Winklespruit

A resident sustained a shrapnel wound in his leg.

A drop safe was blown up at the Engen garage in Winklespruit on Thursday night, 27 July.

According to the Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO), the SAPS Bomb Disposal Unit had to remove some explosives that did not detonate.

A resident’s vehicle was shot at and the driver sustained a shrapnel wound in his leg.
